So if you follow the blog, you know I've been creating a photobook called 'Everything' that contains alot of the pictures/designs I've made over the past years. Well the other day, I finished a part of the book that aims to introduce some color 35mm pictures I took:
I've really been into the work of James White here lately, so his art had a huge influence on the outcome of this thing. I'm pretty satisfied with the way it came out, and I'm excited to get more of this book finished.
I imagine the next post I make will be the on about Southern Motion now being available/ready for shipping. So expect that in the next couple of days.
Also, I have alot of footage to get off my computer and alot of promised edits to finish, so keep your eyes peeled for that, there are some goodies comin.
If I were to sum up Morgan Reed in two words...I would probably choose, 'mythological' and 'being.' And not because of his unicorn-like grace, or the zephyr-like altitude he soars at when skating park, but because of his sasquatch-like ability to avoid skating with me for the first 3 years I lived here in South Carolina.
When I moved here about 5 years ago, this guys name always got tossed around alot and people told wonderful stories of him filled with laughter and impeccable swagger. But up until about 2 years ago, I had yet to actually meet the man behind the beard...and I have to say, he definitely lived up to the hype.
After seeing Morgan skate the first couple of times, I knew he was the real Mccoy. Morgan is capable of throwing down lengthy, technical lines with steez so smooth it would bring a tear to Jeff Stockwell's eye. And the best part of it all, is all of this stylish, amazing skating was mostly done off camera. From my understanding, Morgan has some footage for the infamous Junk Edit, that Johnny Ray and Tyler Wade are working on, so there will be more of him to see there, but aside from an older edit Riley Hilsman Made, footage of Morgan is scarce.
Unfortunately, Morgan moved from SC a few months back to pursue his career as a badass tattoo artist in New Jersey. (pics below)
Having that said, all you guys out in NJ should harass him on his myspace here and get him to go skate so you can see it first hand.
Without further introduction I give you The Unicorn... The Man... The Legend... Morgan Reed.
So this doesn't seem like a complete Morgan love fest, Morgan also enjoys beating women and eating small puppies (below)

Also, consider this the beginning to my 2.5 video installment. I plan on releasing a bunch of online sections from a bunch of ill dudes around here with interviews/excerpts (like the one above) about them and their skating over the next year or so. Once I have created a sufficient amount of sections, I then hope to compile them all onto one DVD that will be available for those who are interested. So come skate with me, I'd love to make a montage or two.
Southern Motion Ships this Friday so get a copy if you don't already have one.
Greenville Premiere is August 16th be there or get eaten by tigers.
DVDs will ship no later than July 31st, sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been so busy trying to get all this post production stuff takin care of that I just haven't had the time.
Also, mark your Calendars, Southern Motion Premiere here in Greenville, is happening the 16th, there's also rumor of Kevin Dowling's new Jam will be premiering there too, so stay tuned. We're trying to lock down a spot but whatever happens it will definitely happen on the 16th.
So I'll be more diligent about all the updates and get back when we have a better idea of where we're going to have the premiere, also, plan on a huuuge session that day...maybe greenville, sc mega session?
First things first though, SOMO should be available for pre-ordering in the next week, I'm getting all the elements together and will be ready to start selling very very soon! So Stay tuned!

And I didn't shoot these but I found them in some Old Family Photo Box and love the way they look so I adjusted the Levels a bit (they were extremely over exposed) and just brought them to you. I really dig vintage photos like these, feel free to posts links to some of your favorites too.
I honestly couldn't believe I still had this picture and just stumbled on it in an old album today. For those of you who don't know, in this picture you have Johnny Ray interviewing Phil Nguyen. Phil was a suuuper ill shredder that passed away about 2 years ago in a drowning accident. This picture was taken years before at the very first Greenville comp I held here and I have to say it choked me up a little to see this. Phil was just such a great, extremely funny, dude and is missed by so many...
