Filming Update 10-26-08

Well well. So the weekend before last, Tim and I went on a bit of a solo mission and got a couple clips, we went and skated some OG spots that Tim used to roam around back in the day and got two really dope clips
Tim laced this fast plant to soul to gap over the bushes:
And this Fast plant to topsoul gap out to the street:
And that was pretty much all that was accomplished for that weekend, good stuff.

The following weekend, last weekend, it was the Mountain Man invasion, featuring the likes of Thomas Martin and Andrew Dobson, brother to the East Coast Legend Joe Dobson. And along with roomy Anthony Timmons and myself, we had a session going.

Thomas and I were in dire need of filming and getting some footage for his section because, due to the distance factor and the crazy schedule I work, he and I never get the chance to film. All filming ails were cured this past weekend.

The first spot we went to was a great local spot named brown rails, we get made fun of alot for our lack of originality in naming spots here in Greenville, which has a plethora of obstacles to skate and worked out being a great first spot.
Andrew laced this really steezed out Top Mistrial to hat catcher revert:
But not before working up some mud flaps:
Thomas laced a clean Top Porn to AO Top Porn across the flat rail:

Then we moved to this soul to gap off of this weird/really short pole that I'd always wanted to see someone do, and Thomas, took the falls like a champ about 14 times before he could take no more:
These never end well:
I say, on one attempt, he landed it but my vote got vetoed by the judges (Adam and Dustin), sorry Thomas, I was rooting for you.

After this we moved on to these weird black rails strangely positioned next to this ditch.
Thomas laced this waste high jump out and over the rail to soul, transition into the bank:

And then he jumped off of a roof:
And that wrapped up spot 1.

After some Subway, we all headed out to the next spot which is a Death Drop rail that towers about a story high that Tim had taken me to the preceding week. Long story short, Thomas laced.
But not before over jumping and sliding down the entire rail on his stomach:
Pornstar, Mountain Man Style:

Timmons was manning the camera and I took a really good shot that you'll probably see popping up as an RB ad for Thomas on account of his new RB Flow Status.

After Thomas Collected himself, we all went to the next and final spot. It was this gap that I had always looked at and swore to everyone we would go skate. I'm glad we finally did because this spot proved to be very fruitful.
Andrew was up first to lace the clean 180 to street:
Anthony was up next with this crazy Misty Flip over the same gap:
And Thomas was rocking the Melon Grab/Safety on the Double grab steez:

Also got a really clean pic of his pole tap to drop but I'm saving that for other reasons as well. Muahaha!

That pretty much concluded the weekend, except for the random visit from Ross Anthony on Tuesday. Through some weird scheduling reasons I just so happened to have Tuesday off as well, so we together a little session and got enough footage to crank out this little edit:

OR download this edit.

So that's it, I have a wedding to edit and author and I also have to work this weekend so probably no updates for another couple weeks, but be on the lookout because you never know.
Holler.

Adam Mcmanus Chimera Wheels Edit 1.1

This has been edited for 1 to 2 weeks but putting together an Animation Reel had to take a little priority so I kind of had to put everything on the back burner.

Buuuuuut I finally finished the titles for it and its good to go. Adam won't be skating for a while due to a sprained ankle he got out at the SDSF so hopefully, this will tide everyone over until he's able bodied and good to go, enjoy!!!

As always, you can Download this edit

Post about the past two weekends of skating will be going up probably later tonight. So most of you will be reading two separate posts! yay!

Homestead Bootin' 10-11-08

Wow, what a weekend. So, at 11a.m. I get a call from Tim Taylor wanting to go hit up a quick solo session to film a couple spots before Smiley, Rafe, and Johnny get here. So, at about 11:45a.m. we get to our first spot and its this double set that you can skate from landing to landing and it barely has any landing in between, so while its not a big obstacle, its definitely a difficult one to skate. The screen grabs don't quite do it justice so I'm only going to post this one of Tim doing this wallride at the end of a wallride line:

After he did just about all he could at this spot, we headed out to the next spot which was basically discovered on one of those, "let's check out what's behind back" moments and that proved to be the best idea I've possibly ever had.

As soon as we skated around back Tim and I both saw this stunt and the conversation went like this:
Me: "For real?"
Tim: "Yeah dude, I got it."

Hahaha, after just seeing it we both knew what was about to go down. So I set up, Tim laced first try, and about 4 more times until he got the clip exactly like he wanted, and we immediately went back to my place to check out the still I shot. Once we get to my house and upload it, we decide it isn't quite good enough so Tim goes back and laces it again, but even better than the one from before, that's professionalism kids.

The still came out so good that I'm not going to post it yet and save it for the next SOMO poster, so check back later this week for that! But check the screen grab:
Tim Wallride:
After this, Smiley, Rafe, show up.

And we meet Joey Adams at this OG greenville spot. Where Tim laced this stairbash to Zero AO Top porn:

After this spot, got some Subway, meet up with our bud Johnny Ray...
And headed out to the same spot Tim and I had already been twice. We got to skate just about long enough for Smiley to get this clean topsoul to walltap before we got the boot from the man.
The next spot was a spot none of us really knew existed, it was this belly button high ledge that I've had to of drove by at least a hundred times. So with Johnny on the camera, and myself behind the DSLR, Smiley wasted no time getting to work showing off some of that low legged swagger we all love watching.
The Undertaker Backtorq
And the patented, low, clean, steezerific, knee breaking TTS:
Here's a look at how high the ledge is:
Johnny Ray was cool enough to man the camera, and Rafe is always steezin on the skate trips:

The footage from this spot is just awesome and I'm sure you'll be seeing a peek of that TTS in the next trailer coming out.

At this point it was getting dark outside but buds Adam Mcmanus and Dustin Hinson were just getting out of work so rolling about 7 deep, we headed up to Ximeno and bladed and filmed a bit more and to spare the words, check out this short little fun edit with all the bros.

I recommend you DL this edit though because its way cooler with better quality.

After here, Mcmanus and I went to play some Wii golf and take all kinds of fun pictures until about 5:30a.m.

So I've got alot of goodies for you guys in the upcoming weeks, and here are some things you can expect to see:

• Adam Mcmanus Chimera Wheels Edit 1.1
• Dustin Hinson Park Edit
• Tim Taylor SOMO Poster
• SOMO Trailer #2

So get excited and keep checking back because I have a funny feeling that 3 of the 4 things on that list will probably be done within the next 2 weeks. Stay tuned
